What is YS Kim Foundation? What does it do?
The mission of Canal Projects, a recently founded non-profit organisation for the visual arts, is to support innovative local, national, and worldwide artists during pivotal stages of their careers. This two-story modern art gallery, which has a library for special projects, will support continuous collaborations with artists who will concentrate on freshly commissioned and site-specific works of art. In addition to exhibitions, Canal Projects will also provide performances, readings, screenings, and a library, all of which will be organised by a shifting cast of artists and collectives. We seek to promote challenging artistic practises that are reflective of the present through creating, showing, researching, and interpreting this work. Canal Projects is graciously supported by the YS Kim Foundation, an organisation that provides general support grants and creates creative projects to benefit marginalised and developing artists and their communities. The YS Kim Foundation envisions a society where opportunity, connection, and culture allow for the growth and well-being of both individuals and communities. Its objective is to inspire, motivate, and create new chances for organisations, communities, youth, artists, and children to succeed. It achieves this by introducing new programmes, providing organisations and students with grants and scholarships, and more. Charles kim alpine, Managing Member and Co-Founder of Alpine.
